ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Morgan Killick and if you are reading this, I assume you want to find out a bit more about me and what I do, so here goes:
I have founded and run my own companies, and helped many others run and grow theirs, in a variety of capacities, for over 25 years. I am one of the few people to have ‘done the full journey’ through founding, growth and exit, but more than this, I have also guided many others at various stages of this path.
During this time, I have built up a vast wealth of knowledge, experience and hard skills of great value to many types of business, particularly those who are looking to start-up, raise investment or grow.
I get a lot of joy from sharing this with people, so I offer access to my expertise in one of four formats: private 1:1 advisory sessions, group workshops, focussed ‘mini projects’, and also – in the right circumstances – in a formalised Non-Executive Director capacity.
Often acting as a ‘second pair of eyes’ or ‘critical friend’ on strategic or operational matters, I also have specialisms in areas such as raising equity investment, scaling a technology business and financial modelling. In addition, I have a long history of supporting the development of social enterprises.
Sometimes I work with directly with businesses on a private basis. But many of my clients are organisations that deliver business support programmes, such as accelerators, mentoring initiatives or funded specialist support. You can get a flavour of these further below.
I live in Sheffield, am well-known in the city and am intimately connected to the business ecosystem of South Yorkshire, working with dozens of high growth potential tech companies on behalf of Sheffield City Council, the University of Sheffield and TechSY as well as local Social Enterprises through the Social Enterprise Growth Accelerator.
But I work nationally too and am a regular fixture of the Barclays Funding Readiness Programme, The Manchester Prize on AI and the UK Space Agency’s Fusion programme for SpaceTechs, for example.
